Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum 7,500 hours of Business Analysis work experience in the last 10 years
  • Experience must cover at least 4 of the 6 BABOK® knowledge areas
  • Minimum 900 hours in each of the selected knowledge areas
  • 35 hours of Professional Development (PDs) in Business Analysis
  • Two references from a career manager, client, or CBAP®-certified professional

CBAP Exam and Certification

The CBAP® exam is a professional certification test conducted by IIBA® to validate advanced business analysis knowledge and experience.

The exam is conducted by the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®).

It is a computer-based exam with 120 multiple-choice, scenario-based questions.

IIBA® does not publish a fixed passing score. Results are based on a scaled scoring method.

Yes. The CBAP® exam can be taken online with remote proctoring or at an authorized test center.

Candidates can retake the exam as per IIBA® retake policy, subject to applicable fees.
